Over the years, we realised many different projects. We can build on experience, and on strong relationships with our business partners. Amongst our close contacts are media corporations, rights holders, distributors and TV networks. We have access to an illustrious network:
A strategic partnership with DFL (the organization operating the Bundesliga) enabled SPORTAINMENT to obtain exclusive rights of exploitation for Germany‘s no. 1 sport, the football Bundesliga. Originally, this was limited to downstream exploitation for video and audio media. In 2004, SPORTAINMENT managed to obtain the sub-licence directly from DFL. This incorporates the rights to exploit First and Second Bundesliga on all storage media, analogue and digital. SPORTAINMENT managed to renew the status as a licensee of DFL in 2006.
A close partnership has developed between SPORTAINMENT and SPORTFIVE GmbH & Co. KG, Europe’s renowned distributor for TV and sports rights. The relationship was further strengthened by the collective effort of establishing Sportdigital, a digital platform for target-group specific sports. The launch of the platform was accompanied by implementing an umbrella brand strategy. Over the years, further ventures have been launched, e.g. Qualifiers 2006.
Our company headquarters are located on the Studio Hamburg compound, with many media enterprises in close proximity. Europe’s largest media compound for movie and TV productions serves customers with outstandingly modern and innovative facilities.
Cooperating with Axel Springer AG, Germany’s leading publishing house, SPORTAINMENT has achieved high-circulation success – with BILD company group (De Agostini Projekt) and Sport Bild (SPORT-BILD DVD edition). The collectively produced DVDs succeed in multiplying both circulation and reach of the print media that include them.
