In 2006, SPORTAINMENT developed an umbrella brand strategy for target-group specific sports. A digital marketing platform was launched, utilising cost degression and synergetic effects in production.
The strategic partnership with Sportfive GmbH & Co. KG (a limited company) gave “Sportdigital” access to an extensive business network. This enabled further acquisitions in key sports such as handball, basketball and volleyball.
For Europe’s renowned rights marketing agency, Sportdigital is an important factor in maximizing value creation, both by marketing of existing sports rights and by exploring future markets.
SPORTAINMENT built sportdigital.tv from scratch: We established an editorial department, produced live matches and provided broadcasting infrastructure via cable, satellite and IPTV.
Stars of German Football Federation at A.T.U.
Trading cards are a thing from the past. Thanks to SPORTAINMENT, Germany’s star players now can be collected on DVD. We know about collector’s passion at A.T.U., therefore we’ll published 36 player profiles within just six months. In cooperation with TCC, we also designed all accompanying measures such as promotional campaigns and temporary discounts at A.T.U. Euro Classics
The Germans are coming! All the German squad’s matches from European championships compiled on one DVD. Treasures from the archives, dug out by SPORTAINMENT in close partnership with De Agostini and Bild am Sonntag. We took care of clearing the rights for historic sports footage and also produced the DVD, the control menu and several bonus feature clips. www.bams-fussballklassiker.de
The fastest DVD of all times
Just four days after the final match of the Bundesliga season, we published a bonus DVD included in Sport Bild, the sports magazine with the highest circulation in Europe. For the first time, Sport Bild was published in two editions, with and without the DVD included. The bonus edition is a tremendous success - hundreds of thousands of copies are sold. We were able to repeat that in 2008 and 2009, again producing a review of the Bundesliga season in just four days.
DVD series FIFA World Cup 2006
We have qualified for the World Cup properly: In 2006, SPORTAINMENT produced the official FIFA Word Cup DVD. That’s four discs with all the highlights, goals, decisive moments and stars – conceptually designed, copy-edited and produced by SPORTAINMENT. Our partner Studio Hamburg Distribution & Marketing obtained the licensing rights and took care of distributing the DVDs. Supported by renowned TV presenters Günter Netzer and Gerhard Delling the DVD edition became a tremendous success. It was awarded the “DVD Champion 2006” award in the special interest category.
